News...News....read all about it!!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a fabtabulous weekend. I have a couple of things happening this evening, so bare with me :) my head is spinning with lots of thoughts. Tomorrow is the grand re-opening of the website I am apart of http://www.glitterangrunge.com/ Missy has done an amazing job and my hats are off to you....you rock! I have added three pieces for sale and one is up for an up coming auction I am apart of. It is for an artist/mom whose beautiful daughter recently lost her battle with cancer. You can read her story and eulogy (very touching) and hopefully bid on a piece and know its going to such a good cause!! I will post more details closer to the auction, but I do believe the auction will be sometime this month. Here is the blog of the family's journey. Please check it out and say a prayer for the family in this grieving time http://iva-and-family.blogspot.com/ The above picture is my piece for the auction. Its a sweet angel on a container box. She is sculpted out of paper clay. She is painted and distressed with pinks and creams. She is holding a tiny blue bird and the box reads, "Soar My Angel". She is just over 8 inches tall and has a paper glittered hat adorned with a pink crystal. She also has her pink boa wings and is guiding her new angel for her departure.

A couple days ago Debra received her bunny. I was so lucky to have her as my swap partner. I am so glad you liked your little guy and thanks so much for hosting such a great swap! She is an amazing artist so if you haven't heard or seen her artwork check her website out http://www.hophopjingleboo.com/ I love that name don't you? Here is what I sent her....I am anxiously awaiting my bunny too =:) =:)

Lastly, but not least at all...... please check out http://www.glitterandgrunge.com/ and look at all the great artists. The site should be spectacular. Here is one of the pieces I did for July. I must log off for now so I will leave you with what is in my heart......hug you loved ones and hold them tight :) Blessings to all.

My Bunny has hopped away.....safe travels!

Good Morning,

Friday I shipped my bunny to it's new home. I hope my bunny swap partner enjoys the little guy.
I will post a picture when I know she receives it! I wouldn't want to spoil the fun!!
On another note over the weekend, I went to an auction I usually go to on Friday nights....I know I'm pretty boring. This is so fun and hardly anyone knows about this great little place or better yet they probably have better plans for a friday night :O, but I think it's spectacular! You get really great stuff for a steal.....furniture for almost nothing. I picked up an Amish armoire/hutch for only 25 dollars, yes I said only 25 dollars!! What a BARGAIN!! Its going in my little studio....what a great find!!

I also picked up a ton of old sheet music (about thigh high) from the 50's for just 5 dollars. I always find fun stuff!! My husband knows I will not come home empty handed :) Well I will post soon but for now have a great day!

My flea market finds....what a day!

What a weekend! Our schedules were filled to the brim, but I still found the chance to escape the flea market that comes once a month in our town. I get lost in the treasures some made and most from a different era. I love it all. My husband even bought our anniversary present there with a little nudge....gotta love my man! It's a side table with a vintage window into the door, great craftsmenship. I will add treasures in and on it....quickly I hope~
I also picked some things up for my artwork, so these treasures will be going to other homes. Vintage door harware and some costume jewelry, and even a chicken coop door that even our dog had to check out. This will be for an upcoming show. I will post more when I get all the details.....but I can tell you I'm very excited and nervous.

These old wooden shoe forms just made me laugh, they look like clown shoes, I just had to have them! For 9 dollars I thought I got a bargain.
As we walked the fairgrounds it started to rain and we drudged from tent to tent in the rain and mud. Then the storm broke and the sky revealed awesome billowy clouds behind a brillant blue clear sky...no grey in sight.

It was as if my goodies were happy to end their journey at our home....haha! It was a great day at the flea market.
Lastly, I added two more patriotic figures to the collection. I am currently working on pieces for the upcoming show, so I will post my dollies as I get closer to the show.

Enjoy your week and I will post soon, God Bless! Jackie

Out and about

I just wanted to say thank you for all the encouragement and support. I am blessed to have wonderful friends and the art world has some amazing people in it....my hats off to you!! Thank you for being a constant and an overflow of inspiration. I can only hope I have a tenth of your talent!

Today was a day of running around, but through the usual errands we dropped in one of my favorite stores. Its an old brick house that has been converted to a retail store and has an outdoor garden filled with lovely garden accessories and a carriage house. She has tons of treasures. Not all of them make it to my home and most the time I go just to admire, but today I went to buy a gift (not for me). I am lucky enough to sell my work there and do trunk shows during the holiday season. It so much fun, meeting new people and being involved through the arts in my community. I enjoy our quaint little town.

Here is just a corner of a room with my Wish Sisters. Small little containers made out of paper clay and full of spunk! I only have couple left.....hmmm, I better get busy!

Here is another room filled with lovely gifts. I could go on and on.
I enjoy this store for myself and splurging on my friends and family.
I wont bore you with how much I get lost in the treasures, but do you ever walk into a store and go I dont remember that or what is that....that is this store. I see something new every time. Sometimes the owner will say I've had it for a few months, but she might have moved it in a different spot. Every nook and cranny is filled with gems and uniques things. I feel lucky to have a my artwork sprinkled throughout the store. So thank you Debra for allowing me a little piece of my dream! I truly feel like a kid in a candy store...mmmm!! This weekend is filled with outdoor gala's, from our monthly flea market to a lovely open house at this great store. The weather is supposed to be beautiful and they will be sangria's in the garden, so if your in the neighborhood come by and visit. If not have fabtabulous weekend and I will be posting a few more whimsical figures soon. Take care.
