Give...give...giveaway!!

Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I last posted. So much has happened. I finally am able to sit down and post. You see my computer is/was in my cozy little basement we finished about a year ago. Well, last weekend we had flooding in our town. It hadn't seen this much water in over 100 years. Our basement was completed washed away. We still are getting things thrown out and trying to save some things....but when something like this happens you can't get attached to "things". My husband and I worked as quickly as we could but most of the kids toys and other things in out store room was lost. So....we have started demo and are still drying out :( Thank you, for all who have emailed us and checked in our family, it truly means a lot!!

So.....I am having a giveaway!!! I have thought a lot about this and don't know what to giveaway.....so I thought of an idea. I will have three things to choose from. You can pick ONE. Then, I custom make this piece for you. Yes, you read this right. It will be customized just for you. You choose the piece you want and the colors...everything! Why you ask am I doing this....well, it's purely out of appreciation! I love going to everyone's blog and many of you I call friends. It been a great place to share silly stories..ask for advice and get inspired in this lovely blogland full of such great eye candy for the soul!! Many of you are always here when I need a friend, so a simple thanks is just not enough. So, that is why I am doing this giveaway.....but wait there is more. If you mention this on your blog your name will go into the drawing 5 more times!! I hope you enjoy this and thank you from the bottom of my heart!! So here are the offerings I hope you like them!
This little fella is in my Etsy shoppe....he will be sculpted on a vintage block. I have a "P" for pumpkin or "C" for cat. You get to choose...yippeee!!! Next is a little Ellie Candy Container.
Again, you will be able to choose the colors for this keepsake! And finally....you can choose a fall birdie! These little guys are so fun with their acorn hats! They just make me smile.
Ok.....that's it! So...enter your name and it goes into the hat I will draw the name in one week...next Friday and then the fun begins! I hope enjoy the offerings. If you have any questions just let me know. Have a wonderful weekend! Take care, Jackie

Oh Jackie, it has been a while since I have been here. I do not get much time to blog hop.

I am so very sorry about what your your area and your family has encountered. So very sad. I hope that your basement and such can be replaced...as for the keepsakes and kids toys, I know it all too well, I am sorry that you lost those treasures.

About 5 years ago, we had a flood in our area, it was terrible. Water up into the main floor for some. Potatoe and onion fields washed away, never to replant them again. It was devestaion for this area.

We also had a flood when I was just a young child and due to that...almost all my photos and keepsakes were lost. I only have a few pictures, from when I was young and only a couple from when I was a baby.

Any who, now that I have written a novel...LOL It is so very generous of you to have such a giveaway, when you are going through so much.

You and your family be well. I will have you in my thoughts Jackie.

Blessings,
~Tonya

I will post this on my blog, on Sunday. I will be back and let you know :) Tomorrow is my Sydney's day on my blog....she is turning 7! YAY!

On another note, I am really amazed by you. Here you have had a tragic time, and you are having a giveaway to make another person happy. You are obviously an amazing person. I feel greedy for saying count me in.

I hope you are doing all right through this tough time and if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I have two little ones myself so I feel sad for your kids. God Bless!

Jackie -- I'm so sorry to hear about your basement flooding and having to sort through and toss everything. I'm a collector and a sentimental person and I would have probably been reminiscing about each item as I came to it. I have great respect for you to be able to even offer a contest while you are going through this. WOW!

I love your little animals.. the elephant is so whimsical and CUTE but I really love the birds. They so fit my style :-)

I just found your delightful blog through Dawn at the Feathered Nest. Now I have another fun blog to visit!
Your creations are adorable. So, so sweet. Please add me to the basket for your giveaway. :)
I am very sorry to hear about your flooded basement. We had a fire quite a few years ago and lost a lot of our children's things from when they were small that we had stored in the attic. I think the hardest thing is when you remember something that you had kept and it is no longer there. But, those memories are still there and start some wonderful conversations of "Do you remember....?" with our now adult children. Laughter supplants sadness and we realize that we still have those things in our hearts.

Hi Jackie,
I just read about you through Tonya. Oh how awful and I'm so sorry to hear about the flooding! We had that about 3 months ago, we had just moved into our new house when it flooded, luckily nothing was in the basement but it was still quite a mess for us to clean up.

You are so very sweet and kind for doing this fabulous giveaway! I'm off to post about it on my blog! It's so nice to have "met" you! Many blessings & smiles,
Shay

Hi Jackie,
I found your wonderful blog through my sweet friend's blog and I now have added it as one of my faorites too!
My heart sank when I read of your flooding as i live in Cedar Rapids and we are still a long ways from recovering. We were blessed to have been in the area we live but our town and the people lost much. Over 5000 homes were destroyed. All of main street downtown and 10 blocks over is ruined and it's sad everytime we drive through. I feel for you. Please remember that although you have lost things, nothing can take away your memories. ((((Jackie)))) God is with you and your family as He is with all the families affected. You have already risen above all this and not allowed your peace and joy to be stolen. You are giving of your heart to others when you are facing these hard times. God bless you! Your creations are amazing and it would be an honor to have one of them. Please enter my name and thank you for being such an inspiring example of what we should do when tough times come. May God bless you and your family abundantly. :)
HUGS and LOVE, Linda :)

Hi there,
So sorry to hear about what happened with you but I fully understand ...it happened to us about 10 years ago.

for me the most upsetting thing was, having to throw away all the items that were completley ruined but had senitmental value, to me that were priceless, photos, letters of family and friends no longer with us, etc.
a fridge, or washing manchine you can replace but the others ...puuff gone for ever.

Has made me appreciate even more what I have today.

oh my,you have lost so many things, and yet somehow you are finding a way to change your situation into a beautiful gift from your heart. That is quite an inspirational message you are passing along my dear. I remember when because of water damage, all the homemade christmas decoration that I, and my children had made were destroyed. Of course these can never be replaced...but we find new ways to build memories.
I am a new blogger and I have been inspired by many things I have read, but tonight, your story has particularily inspired me, so I would love to share my blog award with you. I was so humbled to receive it from 2 people...a great lift for my beginning! However what you are doing demonstrates the true spirit of giving...and I aspire to share that kind of spirit as well...So, jump on over to my blog to receive your award, if it isn't up tonight, it will be there by tomorrow...blessings, Cathryn http://aprimitivepieceofmine.blogspot.com
